Ellen Howell Starkey graduated from Henderson State University and received her Bachelor's degree in

Music Education with a concentration in Vocal Music with a minor in piano.

Starkey went on to receive her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from American College of Education,

graduating with a 4.0.  Additionally, she has completed an Educational Specialist (EdS.) degree in

School-based Mental Health Counseling from the University of Missouri, Columbia,

where she maintained a 4.0 as well. Since completing her EdS., she has gone on to pass her

Principal/Leadership Exam, Princeton Review training, National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)

and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) training,

and hundreds of hours in Continuing Education with a focus on Executive Functioning.

Starkey has more than 25 years of teaching experience, most recently as the Senior Counselor at the

Secondary level. For the past nine years, she has concentrated on tutoring and counseling.

Because she is ADHD and a first-generation college graduate, her passion is to give students

what she did not receive: guidance, information, and unlimited opportunities.

At Starkey Educational Services, we provide a full range of services including ACT/SAT tutoring, placement support for clients considering traditional school and college placement.  We work with international students/clients (those living outside of the United States and those currently attending school in the United States) who are applying to American schools (boarding and day) and colleges. We also offer Executive Functioning (EF) emotional support for children, adolescents, and college-age students.

We have experience in referring students to outside agencies and licensed mental health specialists, when necessary. Let our knowledge, integrity, and patience provide you with an excellent outcome for your child.  We are able to meet with our clients at our office, at a mutually agreed upon location, or via Skype or through phone support when working with those who are not within traveling distance.
